We're exploring the fusion of textile waste and mycelium to create fully compostable, custom-formed objects. These workshops guide participants through the process of combining discarded natural fabrics with living mycelium to grow their own biodegradable items—from sculptural vessels and tiles to packaging prototypes or artistic forms. Each piece is not only functional or decorative but also designed to return safely to the earth, offering a hands-on experience in circular, regenerative design.

We're reimagining waste and shaping the future of circular design in collaboration with Heartwood Mushrooms—a Manitoulin Island-based company that cultivates gourmet mushrooms and transforms spent substrate into nutrient-rich garden boosters. Rooted in regenerative agriculture and community education, Heartwood brings hands-on sustainability to life through practical, earth-friendly solutions.

Together, we’re launching a series of hands-on workshops that combine mycelium and textile waste to create fully compostable, custom-formed objects—from vessels and tiles to sculptural pieces and prototypes. These immersive sessions offer a deep dive into sustainable material innovation, while also equipping participants with the skills and confidence to grow their own mushrooms at home, even after just one workshop.

Whether you're a designer, gardener, sustainability enthusiast, or curious beginner, you'll leave with practical knowledge, inspiration, and a new way to see waste.
